ISTE's new team installed

Installation ceremony of new team of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE). Maharashtra & Goa Society was held at Umrer College of Engineering, Umrer recently 

The new team was installed at the heads of devendra Fadnavis, West Nagpur MLA. Prof. R.H.Parikh, Chairman, ISTE, Maharashtra & Goa Section along with eight national executive council members and five section managing committee memebers were felicitated.

Prof. P.B. Maheshwari was elected s new secretary of ISTE, Maharashtra and Goa section for three years (2006-08). He took charge form Prof Vivek Nanoti outgoing Secretary of the section. Fadnavis announced a grant of five lakhs rupees for the construction of ISTE, section Headquarter at VNIT Campus. 

Rajendra Mulak, MLA, Umrer, Secretary Backword Class Youth Relief Committee ( BCYRC), Nagpur and President of the function commended the efforts of ISTE. He promised to give Rs. two lakh for construction of ISTE, Section Headquarter. Bhausaheb Mulak Ex-Minister (MS), chief guest appealed to the new team to carry on the work with enthusiasm.

Prof. N.V.Ratnalikar, Editor The Journal of Engineering Education, Pune in is his key not address emphasized on providing quality Technical Education to Technical Teachers. Dr. Ashok Ghatol, Vice -Precedent, ISTE, New Delhi & Vice-Chancellor, BATU, Lonare, MS assured to guide the new team. Dr. Raghuvir Singh, Executive Secretary, ISTE, new Delhi, highlighted the ISTE activities and promised all possible help from headquarter of ISTE, New Delhi, Prof. C.C. Handa, Outgoing Chairman of ISTE, Mah-Goa Section highlighted the achievements of the section during his tenure,

Askhedkar, Principal , KDK, College of Engineering, Nagpur, Dr. Kirti Dixit, Principal, RGCOE, Chandrapur, Prof. Sajid Anwar, Principal ACOE, Nagpur. Pricipals, Chairman, Secretaries of ISTE Chapters and ISTE members  of different engineering colleges of this region were present. A.W.Bankar and S.A. Khalatkar compersed the programme. Prof. P.B. Maheshwari proposed a vote of thanks.


Umrer College of Engineering farewell meet Sayonara held



A FAREWELL-alumni meeting, 'Sayonara-06' was organised at Umrer College of Engineering, Umrer, recently On this occasion, all the final year students and the pass-out students were felicitated. The function was inaugurated by former minister and Chairman of BCYRC, Bhausaheb Mulak College. magazine aarohan was releated at the hands of Mulak. 

Mulak also guided the students through his words. Principal of College, Prof.R.H. Parikh, Vice-Principal, Prof. R.K.Jain discussed about the career for the students.

On the occasion, prizes and mementos were given to the topers of respective branches and also to winners of Scholars' Club competition.

The best student award was given to Final Year Mechanical Engineering student Nilesh Garghate, Best teacher award was given to Prof Mohd Sabir,(Lecturer, Humanities and Science Department), Vice-Principal of KDK College of Engineering, Prof. A.M. Badar, Administration Officer, KDK College, Administration Officer of Umrer College, D.K.Mahadik, HOD, Civil Engineering, KDKCE, Prof D.P.Singh, and HOD. staff of Umrer College were present on the occasion.

R.K. Jain proposed a vote of thanks. HOD, Computer Engineering, UCOE, his team and final year students worked hard for the success of the programme.


UCE Students Excel In Exams

FIVE students of Umrer College of Engineering's Computer Engineering Department have put up an excellent performance in the examination held by Rashtra Sant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University during this summer. Pranita Choudhari stood second in the university by securing 77.86 per cent marks, followed by Umesh sakhare 74.71 per cent ,Shruti Sinha 71.86 per cent, Priti Manekar 71.43 per cent. The meritorious students have been greeted by the secretary of Backward Class, Youth Relief Committee, Rajendra Mulak, Principle R H Parikh and Hod S V Sonekar and the staff on their success.


Three-day workshop on entrepreneurship held

UMRER College of Engineering(UCE) recently organized a three day workshop on entrepreneurship awareness for the final year students, in association with Maharashtra Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (MCED), a nodal agency of Government of Maharashtra and sponsored by Indian Society for Technical Education, New Delhi. Around 110 student participated in the workshop. Asit Sinha, HR professional, was the chief guest of the inaugural function. Prof R H Parikh, Principal, presided over the function. He appealed to the students to take entrepreneurship as a viable career option and become job creators rather than job seekers. K A Srinivasan, Regional Officer, MCED,Nagpur, and Millind Tare, Project Officer, MCED, Nagpur,emphasised on the need for entrepreneurship to develop the society. Upal Sinha, management consultant and entrepreneur, presided over the concluding function. He distributed certificates to all participants. D K Mahadik, Administrative Officer, UCE Prof R K Jain, Vice-Principle, Dr A R Dhoble, A W Bankar, T & P In-Charge, and all teaching and non-teaching staff members took effort to make the event successful.


Achievement

Mr. Vikram Yadav Student of Umrer Engineering College Of B.E.I year. He got 78.40 percent in the exam of B.E.Iyr, and he took 13th place in the merit list of university.
