Tomorrow's
engineers are likely to work in an area of ever more rapidly changing
technology. Flexibility and ability to integrate ideas from
different trenches of engineering will be vital skill.
B.C.Y.R.C.'s
U.C.O.E. academic activities commenced with the creation of Computer
Engineering Department in 1999. with the intake of 60 seats. And now
it has been reached to 120 seats. The Department of Computer
Engineering has grown by leaps and bounds right form its inception
with the primary objective providing test education. The
Department has established a reputation for it excellent results,
placements and pioneering sponsored projects by IT industry.
From
the very beginning the department has been offering excellent infrastructure
facilitates to meet the beginning demands of the industry and latest
technology. The department offers excellent academic
environment with highly motivated faculty that inspires the students
to develop their technical skills. The department is having
nineteen highly qualified and experienced staff members from which
two staff members form which two staff members are sponsored for
higher education.
The
first year here form the broadly based course which is widely
respected and very important to the training of modern, top -
engineers. The second, third and fourth years provide the
opportunity the specialize in a particular branch of engineering.
The
department has three computer labs for practical, internet and
project lab for final year students, consisting of 120 system and
three servers in which one is separate for Linux/Unix. The
department is equipment is equipped which latest Pentium processors
and other hardware which updated software such as Novelty Netware,
Borland Turbo C ++, Visual Studio, Ms - office - 2000, Ms - window -
2000, Linux and many more.
Proposals
have been processed for bringing leased line internet
connectivity for a internet lab in order to keep in pace with
software technology and will be implemented shortly. At
present we are having 128 KBPS VSAT connection, 64 KBPS BSNL
connection and R-world as a part of introduction into the industry
environment, students are encouraged to undergo paper presentations,
in-plant training or project work during the summer vacations.
This enables them to get an opportunity to apply the theoretical
knowledge to real world objects. The department have
consistently served as the genesis of engineers of excellent caliber
in the field of Computer Engineering for four years.
