| First Year Mathematics |
|
Myself Mr. G. N. Raut working as H.O.D. in Mathematics Department and also as First Year Incharge in Umrer College of Engineering, Umrer. As an Incharge, I take all the necessary steps for the smooth functioning of first year and for achieving higher objectives. The first year is committed to the cause of quality education and the overall development of the personality of the students.
The first year has the privilege of teaching 9 different subjects by 24 faculties. Our team of faculties is well qualified, experienced and result oriented. The faculties are actively involved in achieving the higher perspective through innovative designs.
Our objective is to impart quality education to our students. A healthy surrounding is required for healthy and creative education. Due to this, the several significant measures are taken in first year for creating good atmosphere which are mentioned below:-

1. The classes are conducted regularly.
2. Monthly display of attendence section-wise.
3. Monthly test to keep the students in touch with their studies.
4. After first sessional exam, we organize the meeting of the weak students with their respective subject teacher for improving their performance.
5. Minimum eight to nine questions are covered by all the staff members in all subjects.
6. Fun and recreation is also necessary for students. Therefore, we also organize a grand picnic every year where we take the students to some beautiful location for a lot of fun.
7. We conduct 4 exams, 2 unit test and 2 sessional every year for adopting continuous evolution process of the students.
8. The progress report of students is sent twice in a year to their parents..
9. Monthly workshop is conducted for social interaction and physical and mental development.
10. The feed back of teaching staff is taken twice in a year from the students to asses their performance in improving the teaching standard for the benefit of the the students.

Three 2nd Sessional Exam. Topper Prizes.
Three RTM N. U. exam. prize for motivation to all students.
Sometime, the students feel emotional and psychological insecurity. They do not get the opportunity to discuss problems associated and disassociated with their studies. Keeping in view, there is a provision of section Incharge who solves the problems of his own section students both social and academic. There is a guardian teacher also for every batch. Each section has three batches. The responsibility of guardian teacher is to organize a monthly meeting with his own batch students and to listen to their various problems. Incase, there is any problem, the guardian teacher conveys it to section incharge and it, finally, reaches to the First Year Incharge.
In order to make the students more sincere and serious in their studies, we send the mark list, including attendance record and their marks in the sessional to their parents with the effective remark for their improvement. Later, parents are invited to attend the meeting with their staff. In this way, we keep their parents in close vigil as far as their ward is concerned.
As we all know, some students who are admitted in this college are basically, mentally, economically poor and they have to fulfill requirement, aspiration of their parents/ neighborhood/ relatives/ friends and also true their dreams what they have seen for you and your future. Success & motivation for your career. We, our staff of UCOE are with you and above rules & regulations to keep your schedule tidy in whole session.
Success always counts sweetest. The success depends on the killer-instinct and hard work of both lectures and students. I am proud to say that the result of B. E. first year has been excellent and praise-worthy. Umrer College of Engineering has been maintaining fourth or fifth position in B. E. First year since beginning in the RTM, N. U. Examination. The college has stood third among 56 Engineering Colleges in RTM, Nagpur University result of 2010-2011.
So, the first year is marching ahead day by day with a mission of quality and healthy education. But still we have to cover a long distance and to register our name in one of the best institutes in this area.
With these all, our first year staff is trying hard for success of each and every student and for the same we need cooperation of students as well as their parents.
